The hard work and training of the ISSP swim team paid off last week when they had their first two swim meets of the year. On Monday, they had a friendly meet against ISCHMC after school. Students swam 25s and 50s of each stroke and participated in relays.
It has been quite a ride for the ISSP Sunbird Basketball Team thus far. We started as a group with very little experience but a lot of enthusiasm. After only two practices we travelled to the British International School to play our first game. Although it was difficult for us and we did not have any actual game experience, the players stayed in good spirits and remained positive throughout.
We are excited to be participating in the Terry Fox Run this November here at ISSP!
Terry Fox was a young Canadian who suffered from bone cancer. When he was 18 years old, his leg was amputated because of his illness. In honor of other cancer patients, Terry Fox decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. His journey became known as The Marathon of Hope.
Moon Festival, also known as Mid-autumn festival, is a very special day for Vietnamese families and people in many parts of Asia. This festival brings our families together to celebrate the harvest under the beautiful full moon.
This year marked the first ever Cognita Games held at St. Andrew’s School Green Valley in Rayong, Thailand. Eight students from the International School Saigon Pearl’s swim team competed against athletes traveling from Cognita Schools in Singapore and Thailand. The Sunbird Swimmers competed in both the Swimming Gala and a triathlon.
The International School Saigon Pearl’s Swim Team is proud to announce they will be competing in the Cognita Games in Bangkok, Thailand. The competition will be held May 31st to June 2nd. The eight 3rd-5th grade swimmers will be competing in a variety of events including individual races along with relays.
