Mr Steve Alexander's eclectic, global experience spans both public and private schools, having worked in leading educational institutions across the U.S., China, Lao PDR, Hungary, Denmark and Pakistan. He joins ISSP with years of leadership experience in heading five different schools and overseeing the building of two from scratch.
Mr Alexander received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of Vermont, and completed the International Administrator’s Graduate Program at the College of New Jersey.
His philosophy to education is that a good chemistry in the classroom is of equal importance as teaching and curriculum in achieving excellent outcomes, and is therefore often seen visiting classrooms to observe how our teachers are engaging their students. He is also strongly committed to the professional development of his staff and brings a vast wealth of knowledge and experience of American education to his role at our school.
At ISSP we practice an open door policy, as Principal Alexander is a firm believer in effective, two-way communication as essential to the success of a school. His philosophy commits us to welcoming communication and feedback from parents and teachers alike, where listening, support, and decision-making is shared between school and home.
